MISSION:
To develop and promote best practice Prehospital Care recommendations for the Operational K9

MAKING AMERICA GREATER
Throughout the world exists a distinct population K9s that are asked to perform in high-threat environments and who continuously place themselves in the way of life-threatening harm ... these are Operational K9s
Operational K9s play a vital role in securing Society's freedoms and safety and serve as a critical force multiplier for the success of many law enforcement, humanatarian and search and rescue missions
Evidence-Based Guidelines
The K9 TECC working group uses evidence-based medicine to form the foundation of their K9 TECC principles, however, the working group also relies heavily on end-user input from representatives on the front line to mold their final recommendations

A WORKING NETWORK
Considering the invaluable role Operational K9s play as a force multiplier, it remains imperative that veterinaryand EMS communities partner together to afford and enhance emergency prehospital care to Operational K9s injured in the line of duty.
The two communities should work together to develop memorandums of agreements to delineate how EMS services may be provided to OpK9s; establish medical protocols and standing orders EMS personnel may use to render care to injured K9s; and provide EMS responders appropriate training in K9 first aid responder care ...
